Now that winter is over and the spring thaw has taken place I’ve been working with hubby to clean up the yard and see what survived the winter.
And let’s not forget the deer salad bar that is our yard in the springtime.
The local herd got their munch on in my tulips, all over the yard, I guess the crocus weren’t filling enough.
My ferns are coming up nicelly in the shade garden and so is the Solomon Seal. The roots have gotten well established over the years.
One casualty of the winter appears to be most of my lavendar plants, with the exception of the dwarf lavendar in the front of the house. That one has been going strong for about 7 or 8 years now. Go figure.
Today’s purchase at the garden center was a flowering quince called Scarlet Storm. It’s bright red flower is what drew our attention to it and the 50% off salle was the final selling point. Not the best picture, I’ll have to take another.
